Animate takes a still image and generates a short video clip showing natural movement. It uses Xai Grok for video generation. Gemini automatically writes a motion prompt from your uploaded image, so you don’t need to describe the motion yourself.

How it works

1

Upload an image

Click the upload area and select the still image you want to animate. This can be a product photo, a generated image from Create or Recreate, or any other photo.
2

Review the auto-generated motion prompt

Once your image is uploaded, Gemini analyzes it and generates a motion prompt describing natural movement for that subject. You can edit this prompt before generating if you want to adjust the motion.
3

Configure your output

Set the duration, resolution, and aspect ratio using the controls below the upload area. See the options and credit costs below.
4

Generate

Click Generate. Video generation takes longer than image generation — allow 1–3 minutes depending on duration and resolution.

Duration

Choose how long the generated video clip will be: 3s, 6s, or 10s. Shorter clips generate faster and cost fewer credits. For most product previews, 3–6 seconds is enough to show a natural motion loop.

Resolution

  • 480p — faster generation, lower file size, suitable for web previews
  • 720p — higher quality, better for final use or large displays

Aspect ratio

1:1Square format, social feed posts

Credit costs

Longer durations and higher resolutions use significantly more credits. Check your balance before running a 10s/720p generation.
